Our

Ski Touring Suggestions

Tour 1: Pirchkogel 2,828 m
After the ascent to the Pirchkogel, enjoy the descent through open terrain, which follows almost exactly the same route as the ascent.
The final section takes you along the slopes directly back to the Dortmunder Hütte. Thanks to the high starting point and the option of using the lift, this tour is still very feasible later in the day.

Tour 2: Wetterkreuzkogel 2,591 m
From the Dortmunder Hütte, take the bus or drive to the starting point at the Iss Bridge. From there, head over a steep, forested slope to the Obere Issalm in the
Wörgetal. Continue through the valley to the Wetterkreuzkogel (2,591 m). The descent follows almost the same route as the ascent.

Tour 3: Rietzer Grieskogel 2884
From the Dortmunder Hütte, take the bus or drive to the starting point between the two avalanche galleries before Kühtai. Climb up a short slope
and follow the Klammbach stream into the valley, keeping to the right onto the ridge in front of the summit. Leave your skis here and hike to the Rietzer Grieskogel (2884 m). The descent follows almost exactly the same route as the ascent.

Tour 4: Sulzkogel 3016
Directly from the Dortmunder Hütte to the Finstertaler Speicher on the lakeshore, then to the end of the reservoir, across terraced terrain into a high valley, and finally up a steep slope to the saddle between Sulzkogel and Gamezkogel. Depending on conditions, cover the last few meters along the ridge on skis or on foot to the summit of Sulzkogel (3016 m). The descent follows almost exactly the same route as the ascent. This tour is undoubtedly the highlight of the entire trip. After this spectacular tour, you can either head home or—even better—stay another night and make a leisurely drive home the next day.
